Smart Japanese Doll

OMG~ This project so creative.  The Japanese company: Culture Japan creates smart doll test. They really enhance the Japanese comic book culture. They do the web and mobile platforms. They use a Mascot character called Mirai Suenaga. Since she was born in 2007, Mirai has team up with many companies to form collaborations around the world. Mirai has had appearances in japan games, anime and has even become a mascot on Malaysia’s electronic payment system cards. It is international famous doll.  The developing team use a 3D print to form the prototype, and put 24 sensors into the doll. Today the work already 70% complement. The doll can connect the twitter and facebook to inform you the massages update. Near future the doll can say “welcome home” by censoring the surrounding environment dynamic changing.

“Robot Suit HAL(Hybrid Assistive Limb) “

“Robot Suit HAL” is a cyborg-type robot that can supplement, expand or improve physical capability.
When a person attempts to move, nerve signals are sent from the brain to the muscles via motoneurons, moving the musculoskeletal system as a consequence. At this moment, very weak biosignals can be detected on the surface of the skin. “HAL” catches these signals through a sensor attached on the skin of the wearer. Based on the signals obtained, the power unit is controlled to move the joint in unison with the wearer’s muscle movement, enabling HAL to support the wearer’s daily activities.
CYBERDYNE Inc. is a venture firm aiming to utilize accomplishments by Prof. Sankai and his laboratory at University of Tsukuba.
The good news now is that its going to be mass produced so it would be sold for affordable price ,so that the elderly people would be able to walk again.

Fits.me is a virtual fitting room for online clothing retailers. It has brought together competences from diverse fields ranging from apparel design and anthropometrics to IT, robotics and engineering.

The company is led by Heikki Haldre (CEO) and Paul Pällin (CTO), bringing extensive experience of ecommerce, apparel retail,  and technological innovation.

Robotic Virtual Fitting Room has come up with a way to let you try on new clothes on your own computer. The technology allows online shoppers to enter their body measurements. Fashion fans have one more reason to swap brick-and-mortar shops for online retailers.

The Fits.me company aims to end the guessing game about size and spare online shops heaps of returned goods thanks to shape-shifting robotic mannequins — which can grow from slim to muscular in moments — combined with a technology invented by Estonian universities.

The researchers have taught a computer to find regularities in the natural world that become established laws – yet without any prior on the part of the computer. They have tested their method, or , on simple and believe it could be applied to more ranging from biology to cosmology and be useful in analyzing the mountains of data generated by modern experiments that use electronic data collection.

The research will be published in the journal Science (April 3, 2009) by Hod Lipson, Cornell associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, and graduate student Michael Schmidt, a specialist in computational biology.

英國科學家宣布在人工智慧領域獲得突破,創造出具備推理、探索科學知識能力的機器人。
根據路透社報導,英國威爾斯Aberystwyth大學的Ross King和研究團隊創造名為「亞當」的機器人,它所進行的實驗是研究酵母菌的新陳代謝,並可以對研究結果推理,主動規畫下一個實驗。
科學家希望未來機器人能夠解析生物體系、設計新藥、分析氣候或研究宇宙,不過也有學者認為現在的研究機器人頂多從事的是研究助理的工作罷了。
